Instagram is a true haven for everyone who enjoys gorgeous, perfect photos. But too many brands, companies and even just novice Instagram users focus on the photos alone. Having a perfect photo is not really enough – you want to give each photo a nice, personalized caption. The photo is what attracts new people to your page, the caption is what is going to make them stay on your page, subscribe, like and share your content with their friends. Here are a few tips that will help you create great Instagram captions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Always create several drafts<\/span><\/h2>\n

Sometimes you sit down to write a caption for a post and within seconds you\u2019ve got the perfect line. Other times it seems like you can\u2019t come up with anything good and you start thinking of just putting down a few emojis instead of a caption. Whatever the situation is, try to always write at least five different captions for each post and then choose the best one. It may even be a good idea to get your coworkers\u2019 opinion about which one\u2019s best. There\u2019s no need to worry about your post being timely since Instagram doesn\u2019t display posts chronologically.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Say the important stuff right in the beginning of your Instagram caption<\/span><\/h2>\n

Even though your caption can be up to 2200 characters long (and even longer if you continue it in the comments), you want to catch your readers\u2019 attention with those first 3 lines since it\u2019s everything they will see before having to tap \u201cMore\u201d. Try to give them a reason to keep reading in those first few words, put you call-to-action or important announcement there.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Add a call-to-action when writing an Instagram caption<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you\u2019re worried that your posts are not getting enough engagement from your followers, there\u2019s an easy fix for that. Simply put a call-to-action in each caption and you will see a dramatic increase in the number of likes, comments and new followers. For instance, ask your followers a question and invite them to comment with their answers, tell them to like the post if they agree, or offer to tag someone who might like the joke in your post, etc. It\u2019s a simple trick that works wonders.<\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t go crazy with hashtags<\/span><\/h2>\n

Hashtags are awesome, they allow people to find content that they are interested in and give you a chance to get more exposure on Instagram. However, make sure that you use them sparingly. First of all, nobody likes to see a post with tons of hashtags – it just looks needy. Secondly, Instagram can actually shadowban you for inappropriate use of hashtags, so make sure that you use just a few different hashtags under each photo, and that they match the pic. Finally, put hashtags at the end of your caption so they don\u2019t annoy your followers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
