There are only a few places on the platform where you can actually do this and the bio is one of them. How to add links to your Instagram bio<\/span><\/h2>\n

As we\u2019ve already established, your Instagram bio is one of the few places where links are allowed on Instagram. It\u2019s worth pointing out that you can only have one link in your Instagram bio at a time. However, the good news is that you can change that link as often as possible, so if you want to promote a new product, you can replace the link to your website\u2019s main page in the bio with a link to that specific product temporarily and tell your followers to find the link in bio.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So, to add a clickable link to Instagram bio go to the Edit Profile menu, select Edit, and enter the link in the Website section. Next, tap Done and check your profile – the link should appear in the bio.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Can you add links to comments and photo captions on Instagram?<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you are still wondering whether it\u2019s possible to add links to your Instagram comments or photo captions, the answer is yes, it is. However, it comes with an important caveat – the links in captions and comments won\u2019t be clickable, so if someone wants to open the page that you\u2019ve linked, they will need to physically type in the address letter by letter. This might work with very short links, but longer links with random letters and numbers will be too much work for your followers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Add links to Instagram stories<\/span><\/h3>\n

While Instagram bio is certainly the most popular place to add links to, it is not the only place to put them. You can easily add links to Instagram stories and your followers won\u2019t have to retype them to view the page. Instead, if you put a link in stories, people will be able to swipe up and go to the website, so the transition is very smooth. The downside is that only accounts with 10,000 or more followers can add links to their stories. The only way around this limit is to have a verified Instagram account, which is generally more difficult than getting 10,000 followers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If your account meets the criteria above, then adding a link to your Instagram story is easy. Simply upload a photo or a video to your story the way you normally would do it, then tap the chain icon at the top of the screen and paste or type in the link and press Done. In addition to being able to see how many people viewed your story you will now be able to check how many people actually swiped to go to the website.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A few other places where you can include clickable links on Instagram include direct messages and shoppable posts. In order to create the latter you need to get your account approved for shopping on Instagram.
