Make Your First Video on TikTok
Recording features
Click the + button on the bottom of the screen to start making your first TikTok video. Here, you will have three options: 15s, 60s, and 3-minutes.
You can select lots of different features on the recording screen. You will use them to record and edit videos in the TikTok app.
Along the right side of the screen, you will see 5 options. You can switch between the front and back cameras using the Flip option on the very top. The next feature is speed. This option gives you an opportunity to choose the final playback speed of your videos. The next is the best friend of all TikTokers – the Beauty button. If you want to remove pimples or wrinkles or add make up to your face, go for this feature. The next button is the Filters option, which is very similar to the same feature on Instagram and Facebook. Finally, there is a timer icon at the bottom. It will allow you to record hands-free videos. You can decide how much time you need to set up everything. Once you click Start Countdown, put down your phone and get ready for the video to start recording.
Visual Effects
To the left of the red Record button, you will find the Effects feature which allows you to produce some cool content on TikTok. Here you can add different backgrounds to videos, use the Shake effect or add a few clones of yourself to the video. You can also choose how long you want to use this effect in the video.
Sound and text
You will find the Sounds button at the top of the screen. However, you can also record a video with your own sound. Once the video is recorded, you can add text and stickers to it. You will also get access to more effects in this section of the app.
Post Your Video on Tiktok
Once the video is done, it’s time to post it. TikTok captions are limited to 150 characters including hashtags. Keep in mind that once you post the video, you won’t be able to edit the caption.
After this, you will have to choose a cover image. Make sure that it can pique the viewers’ interest.
TikTok also allows its users to cross-post their videos to other social media platforms. You will find this option at the bottom of the Post screen.
