Check if you can even start a Facebook store

Not all Facebook users can create shops on the platform, so you first need to visit your Facebook home page and see if there’s an Add Shop Section button underneath the cover photo. Unfortunately, Facebook doesn’t have any clear guidelines on which businesses can create storefronts on the platform, it seems to be very random. So if you don’t have the Add Shop Section button, there’s nothing you can do. But if you do, follow the steps below to set it up.

How to add a shop to a Facebook page?

You can begin making a Facebook shop by pressing the Add Shop Section button. Then, you will need to agree to Facebook’s Merchant Terms and Policies. Next, you will need to provide all the necessary details about your business and log into your Stripe account or create a new account on Stripe to enable payment processing. Once you complete this process, the call to action button on your cover page will change to Shop Now.

How to add products to a Facebook shop?

Once you’ve set up your shop, you will need to add a description of your products (up to 200 characters) and add products to fill out the shop. Click the Add Products button to start this process. For each product you will be able to add a photo, name, price, description, inventory, category, variants, shipping options, and set product visibility.

Keep in mind that you can only upload one image per product and that image has to be an actual picture of the product. It also can’t contain text, watermarks, etc. The product description has to be clear and concise, free of phone numbers, links, and email addresses. You can also set up custom tax percentages for your products if you don’t want to use Facebook’s automated system.

Once you’ve created your listings, Facebook will put them under review and they will become visible to other users once approved.

If you have several products in your Facebook storefront, you can organize those products into collections. You can use the Add Collection button located underneath your product list.
