Start using gifs in Instagram stories

Instagram is a great platform to advertise your product and create new brand. It is one of the most popular social networks in the world and is part of Facebook. It gives you a lot of possibilities to promote your brand. One of the best ways is to create your own page and manage it as a real brand. But what ideas should you use? Well, one of the best ways to make a good advertising on Instagram are stories. They make you look more informal and human-like. Of course, gifs will help you make your instagram stories even better. But before we know, what are gifs and why are they so popular?

Gifs are animated pictures and images. Earlier, they were used everywhere, but with the development of technologies, gifs stopped being popular and stepped aside to give more popularity to other media elements. Still, Instagram in 2017 added gifs as stickers for stories and they’ve became even more popular than they ever were.

They are great as instrument to use with stories because:

  • Gifs provide brightness and colorfulness of image.
  • They visualize textual messages.
  • Giving extra emotions to the story
  • Helps to cover bigger audience and bring new subscribers to your channel.
  • Statistics say that people would rather watch short videos till the end than long videos. Gifs can provide an information in just couple of seconds.

How to use gifs

Instagram cooperates with the service call “Giphy” that is the largest search machine for gifs. If you want to post a gif in stories, tap on the section called “gif”, then try to find the needed animation among listed ones. If you don’t like them, then use search and try to find that way.

There is also a possibility to create new gif-animation with the help of Giphy:

1.First of all, you have to sign up. It is quite simple. All you need is to feel all the blanks and mark yourself as a brand/artist.

2.After that, you can start working, but remember: Giphy has its own standard:

  • The file must be in GIF format (APNG is not currently supported).
  • minimum size – 500-600 pixels, height and width have to be even.
  • It is obligatory to have RGB as a color mode.
  • Gif has to loop while exporting.

When you are done with creating gif, write down hashtags that will serve people as a reference point.

3.When you finally loaded stickers, look for them in the basic library – write down the key words that define gifs. Usually it takes averagely one week for sticker pack to be added.

Also, one more advice: If you want to post gif-animation on feed, then you’ll have to convert it into video. You can find some of the apps in the play market or app store that will do that. For example, “Maker for Instagram” or “Giphy Cam”.

Now you know why gifs are so good, how you can post them in your stories and how you can create them. I hope, that will serve you as useful advice.
