6 Instagram Hacks That Will Totally Change The Way You Post

Ever wondered how to go a little bit beyond what Instagram allows you to do and for example add line breaks to your Instagram bio or appear in more search result on the Explore page? Then these awesome Instagram hacks are for you:

1. Add Line Breaks to Your Bio

You want your Instagram bio to look good and add line breaks, but you have probably got frustrated when Instagram would just remove all of them. There is actually a way to save the line breaks and make your bio look the way you want it to look.

First of all, go to the note app on your phone and type in everything you want to have in your bio, using the return button to create new lines of text. Then copy the text and paste it in your Instagram bio. It works!

2. Add Line Breaks to Your Captions

You spend forever trying to create the best caption with the right paragraphs for better emphasizing but, as always, Instagram just removes your line breaks. The first way to save the line breaks is to use some kind of symbols like dots. They will help you keep the lines separated. Or you can download a special app like “Later app” to help you deal with the line break problem without using symbols.

3. Replicate ‘Portrait Mode’ with Instagram’s Camera

You can actually take a professionally looking shot using Instagram filters. Open Instagram Stories and switch to “Focus” mode. You will see that all the background was blurred but the person’s face in the foreground is very sharp. Looks like a professional shot, doesn’t it?

4. Appear in More Search Results on the Explore Page

Did you know that the “Name” field in your Instagram bio can be searched? Means you can change it into something that is often searched to appear to users more often. These words should be something general but still display the essence of your profile. First of all, come up with the words that talk about your profile and that you want to use in your bio. Then go to  “Edit Profile” on the top right of your Instagram profile. In the “Name” field, right under your profile picture, change the text you want to be shown and tap “Done” on the top right corner of your screen.

5. Hide Hashtags in Your Caption

Hashtags can work really well for improving your post engagement, so it’s always a good idea to use them. However, to benefit from them, hashtags should be used wisely. Instagram allows you to use up to 30 hashtags per post, but this would kinda look messy to have them all put in your caption right after text. That is why you have to separate the caption and the hashtags block. You can use special characters like dots to create a gap between two blocks. Or you can download special apps to edit the captions. You benefit both ways.

6. Share a Sneak Peak of Your Instagram Story

You can save a little intrigue and reveal only a sneak peak of your upcoming Instagram story. Open Instagram stories, take a photo or select one from your camera roll. Tap the pen icon on the upper-right corner and choose a color. Tap and hold on the screen till it’s filled with a solid color. Use the eraser tool to reveal some parts of your picture. When you are done press “Your story” to post it.
